The Clatsop County Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan adequately describes the City's risk to volcanic events. Generally, an event that affects the County is likely to affect Cannon Beach as well. The causes and characteristics of a volcanic event are appropriately described within the County's Plan, as well as the location and extent of potential hazards. Previous occurrences are well documented within the County's Plan, and the community impacts described by the County would generally be the same for Cannon Beach as well. Cannon Beach is very unlikely to experience anything more than a small amount of volcanic ash during a volcanic event. The County estimates a 'low' probability of future volcanic events and 'low' vulnerability to future eruptions. The County's probability and vulnerability estimates are accurate of Cannon Beachs as well.
