The Administration Division provides guidance and leadership for the Public
Works Department. The Administration Division provides information, analysis,
planning, environmental and civil engineering services in a professional,
innovative, and cost-effective manner. Public Works administration works
in partnership with citizens, the City Council, City advisory groups, City
departments, the City Manager and external agencies to construct, maintain,
and enhance public works systems. To accomplish this, the division must
achieve results in the following areas:
- Oversee
the management of the five divisions in Public Works
- Review
work programs and schedules
- Establish
and interpret department policies and standards
- Coordinate
department activities with City Manager and City Departments
- Represent
the department at civic and governmental levels
- Provide
interagency coordination
- Public
information & public education
- Provide
project management, design services and contract administration
- Budget
preparation and management
- Records
management
- Right-of-Way
management
- Process
division work requests
- Manage
digital mapping program
- Review
and recommend rate setting for wastewater, stormwater service charges,
system development charges, and water rate charges.
- Assist
in identifying, prioritizing, and evaluating service improvement
efforts
- Ensure
that public improvements are consistent with established City standards,
community goals, and state and federal standards where applicable.
- Provide
inspection services for privately constructed public infrastructure
improvements
- Serve
as lead for the division in updating work plan
