The City has a number of boards, commissions, and committees which allow citizens an opportunity to fill an integral role in City government by advising the City Council on important issues. To be eligible for appointment, a person must have resided in, or owned real property within, the City or its urban growth boundary for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment.
Copies of agendas and minutes are available online or by contacting City Hall.
On April 1, 2025, the City Council adopted a Code of Conduct for Appointed officials. This policy applies to all Cannon Beach appointed officials.

With the increase of cyber security fraud, the City of Cannon Beach will make a concerted effort to redact email addresses and phone numbers from items posted online and in public meeting packets. This includes, but is not limited to applications, correspondence and public input. The city will retain the unredacted version for the record copy. Requests for unredacted version can be made through the city’s public records request process.
