For many years, through its Community Grants Program, the City has helped to support organizations which enhance the quality of life in Cannon Beach through provision of arts, cultural, social, educational, and environmental services to the community.
Each March, the Parks and Community Services Committee solicits and reviews grant applications from community organizations which meet program criteria:
- Applicant must be a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, preferably a 501(c)(3).
- Organization must have a history of providing arts, cultural, social, or recreational programs to the Cannon Beach community for a minimum of one year prior to the application
- Project must clearly demonstrate relevance to, and favorable impact upon, the quality of life in Cannon Beach
- Applicant must complete a program evaluation as part of the conditions of accepting a grant award.
The Committee then forwards a recommendation for funding in the coming fiscal year to City Council for discussion and approval at the Council's June meeting.
