Under the general supervision of the City Manager, administers, plans, organizes, integrates and directs the programs and maintenance functions of the City’s Public Works Department including water treatment and distribution system, roads and streets, wastewater treatment plant and wastewater collection system, stormwater, recycling and parks and all facilities. This position supervises the work of 15 employees and manages an average annual operations budget of $7 million and an average capital budget of $1,000,000.
Mandatory Qualifications include a Bachelor or Master’s degree in engineering, public administration or a closely related field and a minimum of seven years progressively responsible senior management level experience in public works administration. An equivalent combination of education and experience enabling the incumbent to perform the essential functions of the position may be considered. Experience with the administration, management, and regulations governing public work areas, operations, and maintenance, including a clear understanding of Oregon State procurement rules. Experience in managing and supervising the work of Public Works staff.
